Itchen Valley Parish Council is one of the largest Parish Councils in the Winchester District.
It includes the villages of Avington, Easton, Itchen Abbas and Martyr Worthy and covers the area from Cheesefoot Head in the south to Shroner Wood in the north.
There are almost 1100 voters on the electoral roll.

Overnight (9pm to 6am) on Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16, Thursday 17, Friday 18, and Saturday 19 September, the A34 northbound will be closed from Junction 9 to Three Maids Hill for vegetation clearance.
Local projects and community groups are invited to apply for this year's Boomtown Community Support Grant available from Itchen Valley Parish Council.
On Monday 21 September 2026 it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 day, working between the hours 09:30-15:00.
The M3 Junction 9 roundabout, slip roads and several surrounding roads, will be closed 9pm Friday 11 September to 6am Monday 14 September so essential tie-in works can be completed safely and efficiently.
