Weekend Closure & Diversions 23 to 26 October- M3 junction 8 & 9

Please ensure the signed diversion routes are followed, allow extra time and avoid unsuitable local roads.

Long-distance and freight traffic should use an alternative better suited route i.e. A37 to A30 to A34 or A3 to the M25, we ask these are incorporated into route planning.

Bridge Demolitions

• 9pm Friday 23 October to 6am Monday 26 October 2026 (northern bridge demolition)
  • M3 junction 9 to 8 northbound and southbound diversions

 Our diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

We advise you not to use a Satnav when following any of our diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto our network when it is closed.

Please remember that closures can change at short notice. You can check the latest information on our daily closures page or find live travel information on our Traffic England. Our travel alerts give details of live incidents on our network.

We also post updates through our south east X and Facebook social media accounts which you can share.

Please note lane closure information is not usually provided on our project website or closure bulletins.

In the event of poor weather conditions or other issues out of our control, planned work may be postponed at short notice.
